Sneak Peaks

Blogger just created a neat little system that’s a lot of fun called Blogger Play, which allows you to see photos currently being uploaded onto blogs by other people. If you see something interesting, you just have to click on the photo and you’ll go directly to that blog. Warning: This is highly addictive, especially if you love seeing cute photos of other people’s kids, such as Alex having tea with the Mad Hatter and White Rabbitt at the Please Touch Museum (above). You may feel like a voyeur at times, but don’t worry—all photos are from blogs that are publicly available through searches, so the users have already invited you to look.

This feature struck a chord in me as I just recently requested a review copy of the catalogue to the upcoming exhibit The Art of the American Snapshot, 1888-1978: From the Collection of Robert E. Jackson at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Maybe it’s just me, but I love looking at old candid photos: vacation photos, kid’s birthday parties, people just doing everyday things. Blogger Play brings those little slices of life to us immediately, which makes it all the more irresistible.
