Schmidt on the Schuylkill

Because we're silly and have too much time on our hands (and too much education in our heads), some coworker friends and I toyed with the idea of Thomas Eakins' painting Max Schmitt in a Single Scull being updated for modern-day Philadelphia as Mike Schmidt in a Single Scull (above). One intrepid soul actually did it. (Note the cap reflected in the water... pure genius.) Mike Schmidt, for those non-Philly, non-sports fan types, played his entire Baseball Hall of Fame career for the Philadelphia Phillies, hitting 548 homeruns and receiving an infinite number of boos. Below is another version of Schmidt on the water, borrowing one of the Biglin brothers' bodies.
