Bloggerpalooza

ArtKrush, an online magazine of international art and design, carries in their latest issue a feature article on “Art Blogs”. (Via Edward Winkelman.) Check it out to learn which art blogs are hot and happening. ArtKrush even provides a helpful list to work your way through.

Local art scene blogs make up a lot of this list, including Roberta Fallon and Libby Rosof’s Artblog on the Philadelphia scene, but there are plenty of other good sites on art news and trends in general, many of which appear already on my blogroll. My only argument with the list is that they should have included more sites by art historians, such as David Packwood’s Art History Today, that look at art from a broader historical perspective.

Seeing what’s new and local fits in more with the atomistic nature of conventional blogging, but it would be nice to also acknowledge the work of museums and art historians trying to bring the Old Masters to the New Medium.
