A Father’s Love

I just wanted to wish a Happy Fathers' Day this Sunday to my father (aka, Alex’s grandfather), my father-in-law (Alex’s other grandfather), Alex’s godfather, and all the other fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and father figures out there. These last 13 months of fatherhood have taught me that it’s the most challenging and most rewarding job there is. Rembrandt’s The Return of the Prodigal Son (above) from 1669 captures perfectly the love between a father and his son and how that love brings light into the surrounding darkness. May the light of fatherhood and the gentleness that is the true measure of manhood help dispel the darkness of our times and make straight the path for all sons and daughters.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! You're the best daddy I've ever had!
